Have you ever wondered why some people are able to achieve goals more effectively or why some, despite all their limitations, achieve results that at first seemed impossible. What has been the key to their success? Throughout this book he describes how hard work alone is not enough to produce satisfactory results, as the thoughts produced by our mind also play a crucial role in success or failure.

In Napoleon Hill's book "Think and Grow Rich" he explained how thoughts accompanied by purpose and a burning desire can produce powerful effects on our lives.

To illustrate a little better how the mind can be an ally in achieving our goals let's give an example: a youtuber a few months ago had only 50,000 subscribers. He was very satisfied with the results obtained, but decided to test the power of his thoughts so he placed on a small board that he had near his workplace a sentence that said "in 2 months I will reach 100,000 subscribers". The goal seemed unreachable since the growth rate of his channel projected a maximum growth of 5,000 more subscribers per month, even so, every day he read the phrase and continued working on new videos for his channel. By that time due to the good recommendations he had read about the book "The Miracle Morning" by Hall Elrod, he decided to make a short summary for his community and to his surprise it turned out to be so popular that it became the most played video on his channel. Along with a few others that he made afterwards caused his channel to grow at an exponential rate. At the end of two months he had not only reached his initial goal, but had surpassed it by far with over 150,000 subscribers. This shows us how the power of our mind can play in our favor and help us achieve good results.

Now we can ask ourselves how can I apply this in my own life?

This book describes several techniques that can be used to make your mind your ally when it comes to achieving the goals you set for yourself.

The first thing to understand is that we live simultaneously in two realities:

  • Internal reality: shaped by our thoughts, emotions and attitudes.
  • External reality: made up of events, people and situations.

Many times we fall into the error of not distinguishing between these two realities and we are dominated solely and exclusively by our external reality, we think that our inner reality depends exclusively on the outside world, when the truth is that our inner reality is a very powerful force that can influence positively or negatively on our life.this implies that, if we want to solve a problematic situation in our life, the first thing we must do is to change the quality of our thoughts. Surely you may think that for someone who is being prosperous or is getting good results in his life is much easier to have positive thoughts, but my situation is completely different, I am not successful, I have no abundance, that puts negative thoughts and does not let me move forward; but this is actually not true, the only thing that does not let you move forward and keeps you stuck are the thoughts with which you feed your mind every day. Therefore we must always ask ourselves if the thoughts we have are constructive and go hand in hand with the fulfillment of our goals or on the contrary go against what we want to achieve.

A second aspect that we have to take into account is visualization:

We must have a few minutes of visualization at the beginning of the day, as it is very important because it predisposes us in a good way to accomplish the tasks more effectively. The visualization technique that the author does not propose in the book consists of taking a few minutes to relax our body and mind, and then allocate five or ten minutes to build the reality that we want to see reflected in our life. We can do this exercise both in the morning and before going to sleep, the idea is to imagine that we already have everything we want to achieve. We have to create a mental image of everything we want as a movie that is projected in your mind over and over again. The most important thing here is consistency, that is, doing this activity once or twice will have no effect on your life, so it is better to take a few minutes every day than to do it for a day for two hours.

 

 

It is clear that during this exercise contradictory thoughts may appear, when this happens the idea is that we do not resist, that we accept it, that we let it come and let it go again.

In addition to visualization we can also use affirmations, which are small sentences that you repeat to yourself. This exercise can be done at any time, on the way to work, at home with the family; by doing this we can influence the thoughts that come to our mind, and you don't necessarily have to believe what you are saying, if you don't believe it just repeat it, because affirmations have the ability to divert our attention from negative things and therefore generate more profitable thoughts.

Another idea that the book gives us is: The power of our subconscious mind.

As human beings we possess two minds:

  • Conscious mind: in charge of our logical reasoning.
  • Subconscious mind: which is in charge, among other things, of controlling almost all the biological functions of our body and of processing a large amount of information very quickly.


The subconscious mind is capable of revealing solutions and new ideas, therefore it is possible to place in it any plan or purpose that you want to see realized since it will work day and night in the search for its fulfillment. Our subconscious mind is like the soil that accepts any seed that we plant, so if you have a problem in your life you can delegate to your subconscious daily search for effective solutions, surely the answers will not come overnight, but in this way you can begin to see how new opportunities and events begin to appear in your life to answer your concerns.

The author also talks about how to understand what is happening in our life at this very moment, since it is the result of our actions and our past thoughts, which implies that if we change our ideas and beliefs, our reality will not change the next moment. At first we will be in a position in which, in spite of having changed our mentality, we will have circumstances and aspects in our life corresponding to previous thoughts; which implies that we may feel a little dissatisfied because the changes do not come, we may even think that we are wasting our time or think that nothing will serve to change our situation. That is why it is important to understand that changes need time and that all circumstances are constantly changing and that with our thoughts now we have the potential to positively influence our future.

 

I too have been in the place you are now. When I started my dream of starting my own Medical Clinic and was the CEO, I did not know how to fulfill my responsibilities at work while being present at home with my family. However, after making changes in my productivity, goal setting and leadership, I was able to take my company forward through an economic recession the country was in and achieve positive results; all while being home in time to have dinner with my family every night.
