Scientific study between anxiety and obesity
The usual relationship between excessive food intake and anxiety described by the majority of obese patients leads us directly to the reality of these people. Something described as external to them, uncontrolled and erratic is "what makes them behave that way". Changing this perception of the binge eating problem, redirecting it towards the patient and giving him a sense of self-control is not easy. The objective of this study was to determine to what extent obesity is really an anxiety problem and if it is really about bad eating habits. Thirty subjects were evaluated and asked to answer the STAI questionnaire to assess their state anxiety and trait anxiety.
