Study of relationship between anxiety and obesity through the state and trait anxiety inventory questionnaire, assessment of dietary and psychonutritional profile
The usual relation between overeating and anxiety to which most of the obese patients refer to, make us place at the current reality of these people. Which they represent like an external, uncontrollable and an irregular factor, "is what makes me act this way". To Change the perception of the overeating problem and redirecting it, reaching for the control of it, it’s not easy at all, and it seems reality difficult to change the eating habits without treating the real heart of the problem.
This research was aimed to analyze what percentage of patients reaching a degree of obesity if it is really an anxiety problem or if it's bad eating habits. The study was the evaluation of 30 obese patients of both genders, in a private Aesthetic Medicine Clinic of the population of Badalona - Barcelona, Spain. The database was an analysis through SPSS program version 9.0. The analysis was assessed by their medical history, diet profile, psiconutricional, anthropometric data of patients with obesity and performing the STAI questionnaire assessing levels of both state and trait anxiety.
